A key component in preventing and minimizing the occurrences of domestic violence and sexual assault is combining professional, religious, school, parent, and community groups to promote change in the way we respond, treat, counsel, and shape future generations. To achieve this goal, we have several education programs for your group.

Safe on Sunday: Faith Leader Training in regards to Domestic Violence

Emergency Protective Order: Law Enforcement, Justice of the Peace Training on this vital tool for sexual assault and domestic violence victims

Recognizing Abuse: Paramedics/EMT training on recognizing abuse in men, women, and especially children

Campus Assault Response Effort: Interdisciplinary Effort between agency, college institution, medical, judicial, and legal entities to reduce and minimize the amount and impact of sexual assaults and dating violence on local college campuses.

Volunteer Program

Each CVAC volunteer must successfully complete the state-certified 40 hour training course. This programs combines 30 hours of book instruction, network opportunities, videos, and class discussion with ten hours of mentored hands-on experience.

Trainees will learn the roles and meet the key individuals involved in the legal, judicial, and medical processes.

They will learn the role of the advocate and how to practice crisis intervention.

Crimes will be explored from the offender and the victim points of view to increase understanding.
